How to convert HEIC to JPG on Windows – many photos at once

The usual ways – and their catch
- Open and “Save as” one by one. With Microsoft's free HEIF Image Extensions installed, Paint can open a HEIC photo and save it as JPEG – one photo at a time.
- Online converters. You upload your private photos to a website and download them again – slow for many photos.
- Change the iPhone setting. Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible makes new photos JPG. It doesn't help with the photos you already have.
