How to convert Word to PDF on Windows – one or many at once
Drag the Word document, hold Shift and drop it on To PDF. A PDF appears next to it, made by the Microsoft Word on your PC – and you can drop many documents at once.
The usual ways – and their catch
- “Save as PDF” in Word. Works well – but one document at a time: open, File, Save as, pick PDF, close.
- Print to PDF. Same thing, more clicks, and links in the document stop working.
- Online converters. You upload the document to someone else's server – not great for contracts or CVs.
Turn a Word document into a PDF – the quick way with Velvet
- Select the Word documents and start dragging. One file, many files, or a whole folder.
- Hold Shift and drop them on To PDF. Word converts them in the background – you don't see it open.
- Done. Each PDF appears next to its document.
Excel and PowerPoint files work the same way – drop them on To PDF.
